I love a good cup of hot chocolate wih raw cacao for my rituals and mornings.
I infuse it with intention for my day and anchoring magic for my body.
And best of all, cacao opens the heart, connects us to our inner wisdom, and is full of magnesium.
Cacao is a feel-good food that stimulates the brain's production of neurotransmitters and neuro-modulators. This results in the release of feel-good hormones like Endorphins, Serotonin, and Dopamine.
Here’s my recipe for cacao hearts to support your emotions, mood, and body on hand. Enjoy!
Recipe
6 hearts for 6 hot chocolates
Ingredients
100g of unmelted cacao butter
1 1/4 cups of raw cacao powder (I like this one)
1/4 cup of jaggery cane sugar* finely grated
3 tsp of pumpkin spice blend (optional) (you could add cinnamon and ginger separately)
6 1/2 tsp of the Rejuvenate blend mushroom from Eversio Wellness (add the code Alexandra15 at checkout for 15% discount).
*you could use “normal sugar” but I prefer the less transform kind of sugar. In this recipe, we can’t use liquid sugar like honey or maple syrup.
Preparation
In a double boiler or in the microwave melt the cocoa butter completely, stirring regularly and without overheating.
Add to the melted cocoa butter the raw cacao, the sugar, and the rest of the ingredients.
Stir gently to mix everything.
Pour into a silicone mold (I love the heart shape) and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before unmolding.
Keep it in an airtight container away from heat and light. You can keep it in the fridge if the temperature is too hot in the house.
Make it your own
You could add rose petals, other dry flowers, and other spices (I love spice cacao with Cayenne pepper). Make it fun.
